Drysdale is a town located in the state of Victoria, Australia. It is situated on the Bellarine Peninsula, approximately 20 kilometers east of Geelong and 90 kilometers south-west of Melbourne. Drysdale is surrounded by several other towns on the Bellarine Peninsula, including Clifton Springs, Portarlington, and Queenscliff. The suburb is situated on the coast of Port Phillip Bay and offers beautiful views of the surrounding waterways.
Drysdale was named after Anne Drysdale, a pioneering pastoralist in the region. The suburb was established in the mid-1800s, and its development was largely due to the presence of rich agricultural land in the surrounding area. Initially, the suburb was a center for wheat and wool production, but by the 1900s, fruit farming had become the dominant industry.
There are several attractions in and around Drysdale, including the historic Drysdale Railway Station, which offers scenic train rides through the local countryside. The Bellarine Rail Trail is a popular destination for cyclists and walkers, while the nearby Adventure Park offers fun for the whole family with water slides and other attractions. Other attractions in the area include the historic town of Queenscliff and the Bellarine Peninsula Railway.
