Lovely Banks is a small rural locality located in the northern suburbs of Geelong, Victoria, Australia. It is situated approximately 7 kilometers northwest of the city of Geelong and about 75 kilometers southwest of Melbourne.
Lovely Banks was originally inhabited by the Wathaurong Indigenous people before European settlement. The name "Lovely Banks" was coined by the early European settlers due to the beautiful scenery and rolling hills in the area. Initially, the locality was predominantly used for farming and agriculture. In recent years, it has seen some residential development, but it remains largely rural. Today, Lovely Banks is a small but growing community that provides a peaceful retreat from the nearby city of Geelong.
As a small rural locality, Lovely Banks does not have many tourist attractions. However, visitors can still enjoy the picturesque countryside and visit the local farms that produce fresh fruit and vegetables. The nearby Balyang Sanctuary and Kardinia Park provide opportunities for outdoor recreation and wildlife viewing.
