About Mr Collins Florist

Grant Collins.

Grant Collins  was born to live a life filled with flowers. From the age of 1, when he picked his first bloom and handed it to his mother, his life ahead has been filled with all things botanical.

For Grant, creating floral designs is an intimate process. Before deciding on the flowers to use in a gift or presentation, he thinks about how a design will be used and where it will be displayed.  Completely opposing an online order-gatherer approach, the Mr Collins way is to design thoughtful and inspiring flowers that convey the message behind the purchase and delight the recipient with a beautiful gift.

Mr Collins Florist chooses their flowers personally from a multitude of suppliers, both locally and afar, to bring you the best range and freshest flowers available . We strive to work with the best seasonal flowers so that there is an ever-changing range available during the year, rather than the same flowers all of the time.

International and national recognition.

After 35 years of floristry experience, Grant has been recognised and awarded for his talent both in Australia and internationally. From his first award in floral art at the age of 8, Grant has trained and mastered floristry skills, winning both national and international awards, most recently in Sanya, China where he was awarded Best Design Theme and Best Table Design at The 10th (Sanya) International Orchid Show, 2015 and Runner Up to the newest World Champion, Bart Hassam from Australia, where Grant placed 2nd in the Australian selections in 2018.

Travelling around Australia and overseas, Grant has studied various techniques and designs that have helped him cultivate a singular yet international style. Today, he inspires the future talent of up and coming florists, by providing workshops, demonstrations and teaching throughout Australia and overseas.

Grant has received awards in national floristry competitions including: Teleflora Florist of the Year, Interflora Florist of the Year, and represented Australia at the Interflora World Cup, Shanghai, 2010, placing 4th in the world overall. Grant was Runner Up in 2018, representing Victoria at the Interflora World Cup Selection Trials in Melbourne, finishing behind the new World Champion, Bart Hassam from Brisbane who went on to win the World Cup in Philadelphia, USA in 2019.

Always believing that lifelong learning is paramount in continuing to develop the latest skills, Grant participates in workshops and business training on an annual basis to bring you the latest trends and techniques.
